FIRST GLORIOUS MYSTERY
The Resurrection of Our Lord

Reflection
THE TRIUMPTH OF CHRIST
In the Resurrection, our Lord has demonstrated His complete victory. His sovereignty over life includes the conquest of sin and death.
The Author of life has made eternal life available to all who trust in the Lord. When we accept His invitation to join our sufferings to His, we also accept His invitation into eternal friendship.
The triumph of Christ reconciled the seemingly contradictory requirements of justice and of mercy. We must likewise reconcile the seemingly contradictory requirements of freedom and obedience. We obey the sacred plan for us so that we may truly be free, and we are free in the image of God so that we may exercise our free will in obedience.
We are created in the image of Christ and must place our trust in Him, who was, is, and ever shall be, without contradiction, both just and merciful, obedient and free.
Pray
Pater Noster
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
R: Give us, this day, our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. AMEN.
Holy Scripture
Matthew 28: 4-6
Then the angel said to the women in reply, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”
Pray
Ave Maria
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you;
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
R: Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of our death. AMEN.
